To my fellow lady golfers,
Staying tailored and styled out on the course doesn’t just apply to your outfit, it can also apply to your golf bag! After all, you’re going to be the one lugging that thing around. Think about all the places your bag goes with you, even at the driving range. Just like how high-quality apparel can make or break your game, a golf bag can do the same through functionality, or lack thereof.
If you’re anything like me and on the hunt for a new golf bag that’s both stylish and functional, you are in the right place. It is in fact possible to bag the best of both worlds here! Now, I’ve done my digging, received recommendations, scoured reviews and found 5 incredibly stylish, yet highly functional golf bags to fit all your needs and styles.
But first, see below my personalized and essential tips for us ladies on the links when it comes to finding the right golf bag for you:
My Recommendations for Golf Bag Shopping
Stick to Golf Bags that have Retractable Legs —
Some cart bags are designed to stand on their own without retractable legs, and even though they can, this has driven me crazy before if it ends up repeatedly falling over.
Opt for Full-Length Dividers, not Top Dividers —
Dividers that do not go all the way to the base of the bag tend to be a bit too flimsy for me, I prefer more structure in the bag.
Know your Bag Type —
Note the difference between walking bags and cart bags — size, weight and dividers are important aspects.
I actually have two bags; one for each occasion. My cart bag, a beautiful gift from my mother, lacks legs (hence tip #1) and for walking rounds, I use a lighter bag that’s easier to carry and handle. When I first swapped to a walking bag, I felt so much lighter and freer on the course — which evidently, allows more focus on the swing!
Don’t Skimp on Quality —
A good golf bag is an investment & is one of those things that can last a long time if you go higher quality in the beginning. Plus, it really can make or break your round.
Pay Attention to Strap Design —
Your shoulders and back will thank you if you take this into account! Opt for padded, adjustable and double straps for what I believe to be the most comfortable for carrying rounds.
Pay Attention to Golf Bag Weight —
Anywhere from 4-6lbs is a good overall bag for female golfers. 3lbs is considered an incredibly light carry bag and anything >6lbs is a good cart bag, unless you’ve got the major guns and don’t mind carrying on the heavier side, but keep in mind, the easier it is to carry, the easier it is to save energy for a killer swing.
Stay Dry in the Rain —
If you’re in an area where rain is common, invest in a waterproof bag or a rain cover/liner to keep your clubs dry and your game strong.
Cart Tip (not a bag tip!) —
When you strap your bag onto the cart, don’t go overboard. A snug fit is all you need. You will easily wear down your bag, the structure & the fabric by cinching too tight, trust me, I’ve seen it!
Now, if we’re dreaming, we’d birdie every hole, join the LPGA, and be sponsored by all the top-tier brands — while effortlessly checking all these boxes above for our dream golf bag! But, since we can’t all live that fantasy, focus on the few key points that matter most to you when shopping for a bag in order to play with both style and ease.
Teeing off with our first women’s golf bag is this Callaway bag that screams sleek, stylish and functional all at the same time. I’ll be honest with you; I am a Callaway girl through and through & have always loved this brand. The bag here I’d say is a bit more of a cart bag than a walking bag, so at the end of this product description, you can find a smaller and lighter version of this bag if you like the look but a decrease in weight is preferred. This bag also offers several color options, but this one was my favorite color combination.
Bag Features include:
Weight: 6lbs
Dividers: 14 — Full-Length
Pockets: 10
Fits in all drive, push and pull carts as it has a universal Lowrider 2.0 design.
Shaft Shield in all 14 dividers — meaning there are rubber inserts to protect your clubs.
Double-strap to facilitate a comfortable, easy carry.
4.8 out of 5 stars — this is really good!

Here is an incredibly appealing yet functional golf bag from a company called Sun Mountain. First, I love this look — super unique, retro in appearance & I’m sure you would get many compliments out on the course with a bag like this.
Bag Features:
Weight: 8lbs — Vinyl is a little heavier than polyester so I would use this for cart riding.
Dividers: 14 — Full-Length
Pockets: 8
Made of vinyl and leather — the leather features add appeal to the look while the vinyl material is resistant to water & easier to clean (FYI — the vinyl appearance appears different than a standard polyester as it has a slight glossy look).
4.6 out of 5 stars!
Our 3rd bag up to the tee has incredibly high reviews and offers 35 different colors and patterns — so there’s plenty of room for you to find the bag that fits your individual style. This color here was my top choice as it adds some feminine oomph with the print but is still subtle and sleek — plus, I love the green tones.
Bag Features:
Weight: 6lbs
Dividers: 15 — Full-Length
Pockets: 9
3 handles to assist in easy lifting on & off the course.
Added thermal lined cooler pocket for course beverages.
Comes with a rain hood to go over your clubs during rainy rounds.
This brand offers many other gear and accessories like gloves, towels, backpacks & more in all the same prints.
4.8 out of 5 stars!
If you're a Nike fan, you’ll love this Air Hybrid Carry Bag—it’s got everything you need with a sleek look and comfort to match. This bag has incredibly great reviews on Amazon and the Nike website, plus, it’s very appealing to the eye and offers the must-haves mentioned before.
Bag Features:
Weight: 6lbs
Dividers: 14 — Full-Length
Pockets: 4
Added deep cooler pocket for your drinks on the course — this was highly reviewed on Nike.
Detachable anatomical dual strap for carry and cart rounds.
Comes with a rain hood to go over your clubs during rainy rounds.
4.6-5 out of 5 stars!
Let’s wrap this up by switching gears for those who are looking for a more compact bag, also called a Sunday Golf Bag. A Sunday bag is perfect for those relaxed, casual rounds, especially on par 3 or 9-hole courses. They are lightweight and simple in design, highlighting comfort and convenience — ideal for days when you just want to keep it light!
These bags are designed to hold fewer clubs, usually 6-9 clubs rather than a full set of 12 clubs. Now, it technically could hold more clubs, but that is not the point of this bag, and some reviews do mention that putting too much weight in the bag leads to more wear-and-tear, so if you’re looking to bring all your clubs, then this is not the bag for you.
Bag Features include:
Weight: 3.5 lbs.
Dividers: 4 — Top, not Full-Length
4 total pockets including an insulated cooler pocket for course beverages.
Thick padded, dual-strap design with extra lumbar cushioning.
Water-resistant polyester fabric.
4.5 out of 5 stars!
